On court injuriesWho was the last player you hit while playing a match and what exactly happened?
I hit Cammy last week right between the eyes on my backhand follow through. Pure accident as we were crowding each other. No blood either!

John,
I too am a firm believer in giving your opponent the occasional tap with the raggedy bits of your racket just to keep them in order.
Why, only the other night I gave Submarine Geoff a couple of hearty thwacks about the head just to persuade him against invading my personal space as I languidly decided where to hit the ball.
Another techinque that I have found works well for me is ' the full body-check'. None of this ' make every effort to get around your opponent' tosh for me. If your opponent gets in the way try and run through him, or if he really is the immovable object ( Roddy Grindlay ) then try and climb over him.
Even if he's not really in the way his body can be used as a very effective springboard to push off from, to get to those hard to reach balls.
Disclaimer; for those readers of a nervous disposition Squash is meant to be a non-contact sport and SSRC cannot condone the techniques and mindless thuggery described by this contributor, though this is the only way you'll ever get past Roddy Grindlay, the human roundabout.

Nice one Dave.
As you know I have actually experienced 'The Full Body Check' technique that you speak of. A very effective tool in your repertoire, especially when the opponent is not expecting it!!
My neck still clicks just thinking about it.

Black eye and whiplashJust back from another match with Dave and the whiplash is giving me gip. My left eye is just about fully closed now after being struck full on. I will have to try and play with just the one eye on Friday and with my neck brace on!!
